At Ideas In2 Action we provide Continuing Professional Development for Technology Teachers. We are very proud of our work in supporting teachers and helping them develop this area of the school curriculum. We tailor the courses we deliver to your needs, our client.
We are able to provide training at the ‘high tech end’ of the D&T National Curriculum and in conjunction with leading educational suppliers, provide courses using state-of-the-art equipment.
We provide courses in elements of systems and control for teachers working at key stages 3 & 4. In particular our expertise is within pneumatics and electronics.
Some schools have used us to provide teaching in technology modules for key-stage 4 students. They have found bringing groups of up to 10 students to us, a cost-effective solution for undertaking practical work in pneumatics and electronics as part of student’s GCSE courses.
We also have experience in ICT working with BECTa and as DATA Health and Safety Consultants are able to provide courses for staff to obtain qualifications in these fields. As a spin off of our H&S activity we are also able to visit your schools and undertake risk assessments on your behalf and even provide schools with a full PAT testing, bar coding and Asset Tracking service.

PIC-Logicator As part of our commitment to developing systems and control in the Design and Technology curriculum, we offer courses using PIC Logicator. We can provide you with tailor-made courses to meet the needs of your individual school, or provide you with a PIC Logicator session as part of an ECT course. The software that we use is Version 2005, which as well as being able to program ‘raw’ PICs, enables PICaxe chips to be programmed directly from Logicator’s flow charting environment. We realise that all departments will not have this version, so we are also able to offer courses using V1.06 of the software. |

PICaxe Peripheral Interface Controllers (PICS) are the modern alternative to using discrete electronic components as the heart of electronic systems. Unfortunately their programming language is difficult to learn. By using the PICAXE ® system PICs are programmed in a manner that is easy to learn and easy to apply to everyday control situations. We provide CPD courses to help facilitate this learning. |

Logicator Logicator is the flow charting environment for teaching Systems and Control that has been developed by Economics Education Ltd. Here at Ideas In2 Action we are able to offer you Logicator courses to meet the needs of your school. We realise that all schools do not wish to get involved in providing total electronic product design solutions as their student outcomes (as may be done using PIC Logicator or PICaxe as the heart of a product) but may wish to simulate the control outcomes on screen, or provide the outcomes via a “Smart Box”. With this in mind we are able to provide CPD courses for your staff, or weekly - block sessions for your students. Please contact us to discuss your requirements. |

Pneumatics Here at Ideas in2 Action we see the teaching of pneumatics as an important aspect of the Systems and Control Strand of the Design and Technology National Curriculum. We can provide courses especially tailored for your needs, which could include bespoke training and/or teaching, to enable pneumatics to be a part of the D&T curriculum in your school. |
